Terms of Use

Last updated June 14, 2026

Some of this needs to be in legal language, but we've done our best to keep it clear. These terms are an agreement between you and Communa Inc ("ONBF", "we", "us") and they govern how you use ONBF.

The short version

ONBF lets builders run AI-powered projects whose token costs are paid by their community. Builders create a project, get a single Virtual key that proxies to providers like Claude, Gemini, OpenAI and OpenRouter, and share a public funding page. Backers chip in, the project wallet fills, and spend never exceeds what's funded. By using ONBF you agree to everything below.

One thing worth saying up front: ONBF exists to help builders ship great things — regardless of their means. We're an enabling layer that routes your requests to AI providers; we are not a safety, moderation, security or content-review service for AI. That shapes a lot of what follows.

About creating an account

You need an account to create projects, issue keys or back a project. You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) and able to enter a binding contract. Keep your login details and Virtual keys secret — you're responsible for everything that happens under your account or with your keys. Tell us right away at support@onbf.ai if you think a key has leaked, and rotate it from your dashboard.

The information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date. One person or organization, one account — don't impersonate anyone or misrepresent who's behind a project.

Things that are a big no-no

When you use ONBF, you agree not to:

  • Use the proxy or any model for anything illegal, harmful, hateful, or that violates a provider's acceptable-use policy.
  • Resell, sublicense or share access to the proxy, or try to use ONBF as a general-purpose API gateway unrelated to a funded project.
  • Attempt to bypass the hard wallet ceiling, metering, rate limits or any other technical control.
  • Abuse, scrape, spam or harvest the personal information of backers or other builders.
  • Use funding to launder money, or solicit funds for a project you don't genuinely intend to build.
  • Reverse engineer, disrupt or probe the service, or upload malware.

We may suspend or remove any account or project that breaks these rules, with or without notice.

AI output and how you use it

ONBF is a routing and funding layer — we are not the AI provider. We pass your request to the provider and pass their response back to you. We don't generate, review, filter, moderate or safeguard model output, and we make no warranty about its accuracy, safety, quality or fitness for any purpose.

AI can be powerful — and it can also be wrong, biased, offensive or harmful, sometimes in ways no one expects. You are solely responsible for how you use ONBF and any output you receive, including evaluating whether it's appropriate and safe for your use case and your end users. ONBF is offered to enable builders, not to make AI safe for any particular purpose — that part is on you.

Service availability

We work hard to keep ONBF fast and dependable, and we genuinely want it running smoothly for you and your backers. At the same time, we can't promise zero downtime. ONBF depends on third-party AI providers, payment processors and infrastructure we don't control, and we may occasionally need to take things offline for maintenance or updates.

ONBF is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for any loss, missed funding, failed or delayed requests, or downstream impact caused by an outage, slowdown, error or interruption — whether it originates with us or with a provider we rely on.

Things we don't do / aren't responsible for

We don't guarantee the conduct of any builder or backer. Backing a project is a voluntary contribution toward its AI costs — not a purchase, investment, loan or donation that entitles you to a product, refund or return.

Limitation of liability

None of this means we don't care — we're building ONBF to be something you can rely on. But to keep a free, community-funded service viable, we have to be clear about limits.

To the fullest extent permitted by law: ONBF and everything related to it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied (including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement). You assume all risk from using ONBFand any AI output it routes.

Again to the fullest extent permitted by law, Communa Inc will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, funding, data, goodwill or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) ONBF — even if we've been advised such damages were possible. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so a few of these may not apply to you; in that case, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.

About our fees

ONBF charges a small platform fee — currently 5% of each contribution — that keeps the platform running. Aside from that fee, your project's AI usage is billed at the provider's exact pass-through cost: we don't mark up tokens or add a margin on top of what the AI provider charges.

When you create a project you choose who covers the platform fee. You can absorb it (it's deducted from each contribution before your wallet is credited) or pass it on (it's added to the backer's total at checkout, so your wallet receives the full amount they intended to give). Your project's funding page and checkout show the applicable fee before anyone contributes. We may change the platform fee from time to time, and if we do we'll update it here.

Separately, our payment processor charges its own fees. Contributions are handled by a third-party processor (e.g. Stripe), and their standard transaction fees may be deducted before funds reach a project wallet. Those fees are set by the processor, not by us.

Other websites and links

Project pages, updates and profiles may link to other sites — and your project will call third-party AI providers. We don't control those sites or providers and aren't responsible for their content, terms or privacy practices. Following a link is at your own risk.

Our intellectual property

ONBF, our logo, the platform, and everything we build to run it are owned by Communa Inc and protected by law. These terms don't give you any right to use our brand or copy the service. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use ONBF as intended.

Your content

You own the content you post — your project description, updates, links and profile. By posting it on ONBF you give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and display it so the service can work (for example, showing your project on its public page). You're responsible for making sure you have the rights to everything you post, and that it doesn't break the rules above.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from your settings. When you do, we'll deactivate your Virtual keys and stop new proxying. Some records — like usage metering and transaction history — may be retained where we're legally required to keep them or need them to resolve disputes. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Dormancy and unclaimed balances

If a project sits inactive for a long period, we may pause it and reach out. Any unspent backer funds remain earmarked for that project's AI costs — we don't pocket them. Where a balance can't reasonably be used (for example, a project is permanently abandoned), we'll handle the remaining funds in line with applicable unclaimed-property law.

Indemnity

You agree to cover and hold Communa Inc harmless from any claims, losses or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of ONBF, your content, or your breach of these terms.

Resolving disputes

If something goes wrong, email us first at support@onbf.ai — most issues are sorted out quickly that way. If we can't resolve it informally, disputes will be handled as set out under the governing law below.

Copyright complaints

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on ONBF infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@onbf.ai with enough detail to identify the work and where it appears, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized. We'll review and remove infringing content where appropriate.

The agreement between you and us

These terms — together with our Privacy Policy — are the whole agreement between you and Communa Inc about ONBF, and replace any earlier understanding. If we don't enforce a part of them, that's not a waiver. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.

A few other things

We may update these terms from time to time; we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. Continuing to use ONBF after a change means you accept it. We may also update, suspend or discontinue features as the product evolves.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
